What Is Spiritual Awakening?
Spiritual awakening is God’s sovereign work through the Holy Spirit whereby people, communities, and nations are awakened to the truth of Jesus Christ, convicted of sin, drawn to repentance, and brought into salvation through the Gospel.
While revival primarily renews God’s people, awakening extends beyond the Church to reach those who do not yet know Christ.
Awakening opens blind eyes to the truth of the Gospel, softens hardened hearts, restores hope where there is despair, and turns people from darkness to the light of Christ.
Throughout history, seasons of awakening have resulted in widespread repentance, transformed communities, renewed families, greater justice and compassion, missionary movements, and millions coming to faith in Jesus Christ.
True awakening is not created by human ability, media campaigns, or emotional persuasion. It is the work of God through His Word, the Holy Spirit, prayer, faithful preaching of the Gospel, and obedient disciples.
Jesus Christ remains the center of every genuine awakening, for He alone is the Savior of the world.
“Awake, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” — Ephesians 5:14
God’s invitation remains open to every person and every nation. His desire is that people everywhere repent, believe the Gospel, and experience new life through Jesus Christ.
Why the United States of America Needs Salvation, Revival, and Awakening
A Call to the United States Through Jesus Christ
The United States of America has been profoundly influenced by the Holy Scriptures and the Christian faith throughout much of its history. Many of its early settlers crossed the Atlantic seeking the freedom to worship God according to the Holy Scriptures, to raise their families in the Christian faith, and to build communities shaped by biblical convictions concerning God, human dignity, justice, personal responsibility, liberty, and moral accountability.
The Bible became one of the principal influences upon many early churches, schools, colleges, communities, and institutions. Christian pastors, teachers, missionaries, and believers helped lay moral and spiritual foundations that shaped many aspects of the nation’s development. Through seasons of revival and spiritual awakening, God raised up faithful evangelists, pastors, theologians, Bible teachers, prayer movements, Bible societies, missionary organizations, and churches that proclaimed the Gospel throughout the United States and to the nations of the world. Countless lives were transformed through faith in Jesus Christ, churches were strengthened, missionaries were commissioned, and the Gospel spread across continents.
The words found on America’s national motto,
“In God We Trust,”
reflect a biblical truth proclaimed long before the founding of the nation:
“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” — Psalm 20:7
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5–6
The Holy Scriptures also declare:
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He chose for His inheritance.” — Psalm 33:12
Yet the Holy Scriptures consistently teach that no nation can live forever upon the faith of previous generations. God’s covenant blessings are not inherited automatically. Every generation must personally hear the Gospel, repent, believe in Jesus Christ, and faithfully walk with God.
The Lord calls every generation:
“Return to Me,” declares the Lord Almighty, “and I will return to you.” — Zechariah 1:3
Likewise, He promises:
“If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” — 2 Chronicles 7:14
These promises remain as relevant today as when they were first spoken.
Neither a nation’s history, its institutions, its achievements, its wealth, its military strength, its democratic traditions, nor its religious heritage can replace a living relationship with Jesus Christ.
Today, the United States, like every nation under heaven, stands in continual need of Salvation through Jesus Christ, Revival among God’s people, and Spiritual Awakening among those who do not yet know Him.
America’s greatest need is not merely to remember its Christian heritage, but to return wholeheartedly to Jesus Christ through true repentance, to be continually led, guided, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, to remain faithful to the Holy Scriptures, and to proclaim the Gospel faithfully to future generations and to the nations until the Lord Jesus Christ returns in glory.

The Time Is Now to Return to the Father in Whom We Trust
America’s national motto declares:”In God We Trust.”
These words are more than a patriotic declaration. They express a biblical truth and an enduring invitation from God.
True trust is more than a national motto. It is a personal response of faith, repentance, obedience, and wholehearted dependence upon the Father through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Today, the Father extends His invitation to every individual, every family, every church, every community, and the entire nation:
“Return to Me,” declares the Lord Almighty, “and I will return to you.” — Zechariah 1:3
Jesus Christ revealed the Father’s heart in the parable of the lost son. Having recognized his sin and separation, the son made a life-changing decision:
“I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee.” — Luke 15:18
The father did not reject his returning son. While he was still a long way off, the father saw him, was moved with compassion, ran to embrace him, restored him to his family, and rejoiced over his return (Luke 15:20–24).
This is the Father’s heart today.
He continues to call every person and every nation to Himself through Jesus Christ.
The time has come to arise.
The time has come to return.
The time has come to return to the Father in whom we trust.
This is the call to leave behind sin, self-reliance, spiritual complacency, and every false confidence, and to return to the Father through Jesus Christ.
It is the call to receive God’s salvation, to experience genuine revival through the Holy Spirit, and to witness a spiritual awakening that transforms individuals, families, churches, communities, and nations.
The Father still welcomes all who sincerely return to Him through His Son.
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” — Romans 10:13

Why Europe Needs Salvation, Revival, and Awakening
A Call to Europe Through Jesus Christ
Europe occupies a unique place in the history of the Gospel. Although Christianity was born in the lteand of Israel through the incarnation, ministry, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ, God’s redemptive plan was never intended for one nation alone. Jesus Christ came as the Savior of the world, commissioning His disciples to proclaim the Gospel to every nation.
Before ascending into heaven, Jesus declared:
“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” — Acts 1:8
That commission soon reached Europe through the Apostle Paul. During his second missionary journey, while seeking God’s direction, Paul received a vision during the night:
“Come over to Macedonia and help us.” — Acts 16:9
Recognizing this as the leading of the Holy Spirit, Paul crossed from Asia into Europe, where the Gospel was first preached in Philippi before spreading to Thessalonica, Berea, Athens, Corinth, Rome, and many other regions. Men and women believed in Jesus Christ, churches were planted, elders were appointed, disciples were formed, and the Kingdom of God continued to advance throughout Europe.
The Holy Spirit continued strengthening these churches through the inspired writings of the Apostle Paul. His letters to the Romans, Corinthians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, Thessalonians, and his pastoral letters to Timothy and Titus established believers in the doctrines of salvation, grace, faith, the work of the Holy Spirit, holy living, Christian leadership, discipleship, unity, perseverance, and the hope of the return of Jesus Christ. These writings remain foundational to Christian faith throughout Europe and the world today.
The Apostle John further strengthened the Church through the Gospel of John, 1, 2, and 3 John, and the Book of Revelation. Through these inspired writings, the Holy Spirit revealed Jesus Christ as the eternal Word made flesh, the Son of God, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, the risen Lord, the Head of His Church, and the coming King who will judge the nations and establish His everlasting Kingdom.
From the apostolic age onward, God continued to use Europe through faithful churches, the preservation and translation of the Holy Scriptures, the Protestant Reformation, theological scholarship, missionary movements, Bible translation societies, Christian education, and worldwide evangelism. From Europe, countless missionaries carried the Gospel of Jesus Christ to Africa, Asia, the Americas, Oceania, and many other parts of the world.
Yet the Holy Scriptures repeatedly remind us that God’s covenant blessings are not inherited automatically from one generation to another. Every generation must personally hear the Gospel, repent, believe in Jesus Christ, and faithfully walk with God.
Therefore, the Lord declares:
“Return to Me,” declares the Lord Almighty, “and I will return to you,” says the Lord Almighty. — Zechariah 1:3
That invitation remains God’s call to Europe today.
No nation can rely forever upon its Christian history, theological institutions, religious traditions, or the faith of previous generations. Every generation must experience the saving grace of Jesus Christ, the renewing work of the Holy Spirit, and faithful obedience to the Holy Scriptures.
Today, Europe, like every continent and every nation, stands in continual need of Salvation, Revival, and Awakening—not because God has abandoned Europe, but because His invitation to return to Him is extended afresh to every generation.
Europe’s greatest need is not merely to preserve its Christian heritage but to know Jesus Christ personally, to return wholeheartedly to God, to be revived by the Holy Spirit, and to become a faithful witness of the Gospel until the Lord Jesus Christ returns in glory.
